More than Words December challenge

Hi Everyone,

What an awesome challenge this month is, I love doing what I call bower bird layouts.

I use all old odd bits from my stash, I even borrowed bits from my scrap booking sista.

The frame was brand new and I couldn't wait to use it.

I had to borrow a pair of scissors because I forgot to pack mine for retreat.

Scrap the girls December challenge

Hi Everyone,

I have been a bit slack lately off my game, but I just had an awesome weekend away scrap booking and got some pages done.

I got a photo off one of my scrapping sisters of her gorgeous little girl and went to town with my pink stash (which I didn't think I had!!!!) I gave it to her as a present.

Kraft + December challenge

Hi Everyone,

I have been in a creative slump for a couple of months now. I went on an awesome scrap booking retreat last weekend and I actually got some pages done.

Anybody who knows me, knows I luuuurve my shoes. So I just had to do a page with them for this challenge.
I was inspired by the mood board to use lace and to add that texture feel to the background with a doily stencil.
I kept it simply so my shoes were the hero's LOL this is only a small sample of them too.

White with ONE November Challenge 2016

Hi Everyone,

We have a gorgeous blue this month at White with One blog challenge.

I chose a lovely selfie of my daughter to frame with in a frame.

I started with some texture paste on the background through a Tim Holtz stencil.
Let it dry and then just tinted it with a blue mist and some Tim Holtz weathered wood distress stain.
I brushed the stain over the white frame too.

I cut a round doily chipboard from WOW chipboard in half to use as finials for the top and bottom of the frame. I coloured that with Heidi Swapp navy mist.

I used some paper flowers from kaiser in the grey/blue tones.
My title and butterfly I heat embossed with some aged aqua powder from stampendous.

I then framed it again in a 12 x 12 shadow box frame from K-Mart.

Please join us this month and have fun with this lovely colour.

Tips , Tricks and Techniques with Tracey Henly

Mixed Media Background

I always start with a 12 x 12 sheet f chipboard.
Then using matt gel or your favourite glue  add some texture to the background with ribbons and mesh. Remember with this technique it does not matter what the original colour of any of your pieces are as we are going to change it.

I then added more texture with a template and some whipped spackle and then let it dry.

Once this is dry add some chipboard, metal charms or any accent that compliments your layout.  I use helma 450 for my glue of choice.

Once everything is dry paint white gesso over everything and let it dry.

With this layout I used Lindys stamp gang sprays and some of he new prima alchelmy acrylic paints.

I put the prima flowers on last as they were really beautiful as they were, so I didn't need to paint them to match the layout. I actually chose my colours to compliment the flowers.

May Design Team Blog Hop

Hi Everyone, today I am going to share with you a couple of my favourite all time bright layouts.

My darling husband always gives me the goofy face for a photo so I decided to scrap this one, love how it turned out.

This layout was inspired by a painting, so I took the interpretation literally and I really love it.

This one I was having a little fun with in my art journal. The background is scrunched up masking tape. I have an obsession with Smith's chicken chips, so I shrinky dinked the chip packet in the oven. After devouring the chips of cause!!!!

OK, Hope you enjoyed my version of Bright and I would like to send you onto the fabulous Lizzy Hill

Leave me a little love in the comments below and I will be doing a random draw for a RAK from me on Tuesday the 17th May.

At the end of the hop please return to

and leave a comment there for a chance in the random draw prize.

More than words February Challenge

To view some totally awesome inspiration click on the above link.

I had a plan for the background for this layout I was going to use sticky embossing powder and some stamped images and sprinkle glitter all over it and have a very sparkly girly background.

Well it didn't quite work out that way, I was just about to get on the trusty facebook and ask all my scrapping peeps if they were having any trouble with the ranger sticky embossing powder not going sticky when heated?????  When I looked at the label in my hand and realized I had used clear embossing powder by mistake.....D'oh.  So it ended up a watermark background instead. LOL.

Kraft + January challenge

This is our mission if we choose to accept it......

I am really slack at journaling and I know how very important it is to making the preserved memories meaningful, so I am going to endeavour to include it in my layouts this year.

I went with the Heidi Swapp hint to mixed hand writing in with other fonts. So I used chipboard and stickers with hand written words for this layout.
