Playing with the Cricut

Using a PVC plastic cover from my sons project book i cut some shapes to use as masks. I selected from the indie art cartridge the flame,heart and diamond. Flame, - fit to page-, speed medium, pressure maxiumum and blade 6 Heart, only difference was i took off fit to page and selected size 4" diamond selected size 4" the cut was great on the flame even though it didn't go all the way through it snapped apart really easily. It was a bit harder for the heart i had to use sissors in some places and the diamond didn't want to come to the party at all. I think this was because my cutting matt was not sticky enough and the sheet of PVC wasn't totally flat. To do the background i started with a burnt orange piece of cardstock. Using the flame in the centre and the dicard piece from the heart i sprayed Black gold glimmer mist first and i moved the discard peice around and sprayed with candy apple red. I blended some black distress ink around the edges and used some red paint for the top edge to drip a little. For the layout i cut another Heart size 3" speed medium, pressure high and blade set on 4. I then inked over the top with a faux crackle stamp and gold brillance ink. The word Heartbreaker i picked size 1 1/4 " which is about as small as i think you could take it, as mine was nearly ripping in the cut. I used the same settings as above for the heart. I only used scrap pieces of cardstock for this layout and here is the finished page.

The noodle boxes were a big hit and they all got into the spirit of a costume change, we even piled it up on some poor specimums
I have a lots of printing to do and some major tiding up before i can get creative. I am really keen to get some of these funny faces onto a layout. So I will say bye for now and start cleaning my scrap space.

Welcome everyone to my very first DT blog hop post. I wish you all a very happy and wonderful Christmas. There will be a RAK from myself for one of the ladies who leave a little comment on my blog. I will put the names in a hat at the end of the weekend and announce the winner next week.

I am sure the wonderful Sandra Wallace has got you inspired and giggling
if I know Sandra at all it was probably a big belly laugh. xxx

I am very happy to be a new member of this wonderful company and very excited to be embarking on this new venture with such a supportive and inspiring group of people.

This layout is all Ms Kinders fault......because she challenged me to do a layout with a banner. Jo will verify I was not at all happy. This was one trend I was not in love with LOL.

I could look at other peoples layouts and go "that looks fantastic" but myself noooooooooo.
I still think this would be better without the banner!!!!!!

I got my trusty cricut warmed up and put in the "joys of the season"cartridge. I found the star border and cut it out with the shadow cut as well, so i had two peices that fit over the top of each other. A little braid some puffy stars and gold kindy glitz and viola a banner.

The twiddly bitz peices used on this page are;

nero mantle which i had crackle painted blue and wasn't happy with so i then used gold crackle paint over the top.

Fern leaves set of 4. I have used one of these sprayed with crafty notions mintalious.

Merry Xmas word with Holly leaves i have sprayed with crafty notions cherrylious and then I used green tinsel embossing powder on the leaves and glued on little holly berries.

HO!HO!HO! I sprayed with cherrylious also then I black embossed the exclamation marks.

Ok girls here are a couple of quick bulk mailing xmas card ideas. All you need is a good versatile double sided pattern paper, your card bases any size you prefer and of course these twiddlybitz pieces;

tweeny bitz xmas tree there are two different sizes in these.

Mirror Christmas tree

I have just covered the chipboard trees in red tinsel embossing powder for this card.

The mirror tree goes in the middle with the black embossed inchies to either side.

The trees are embossed this time in green tinsel powder.

There you go quick, easy and affordable.

Well girls that's it from me this time your next port of call is with the supper talented and lovely Carol Thompson at 10am tomorrow, just make sure your socks are glued on before you venture into her blog.....just saying. xxx

This was my challenge 5 entry for camp mojo.
I got my inspiration for the zipper flowers out of the better homes and gardens
magazine. They had an article where you could make jewellery
from zippers. The challenge was to have a least two handmade embellishments
on your page.

Well i didn't meet my deadline of the 4th of december for my nephews album.
these are pages 16,17 and 18 .
I have 6 more to go. I took it down to his party, as it is, for everyone to
look at but i have brought it back home to finish off.
Page 17 the middle one was a scraplift/inspired page from the
very talented nicole pomeroy.
